Core Terms & Conditions for Artists
Property (IP): Specify that the artist retains copyright to all artwork, including preparatory sketches, unless formally transferred in writing. Define if the client is purchasing a license (usage rights) or full ownership.
Payment Terms: Clearly outline pricing, non-refundable deposits, payment milestones, final payment requirements before delivery, and penalties for late payments.
Scope of Work & Revisions: Define what is included in the project price (e.g., "includes two rounds of revisions") and state that additional revisions will incur extra fees.
Cancellation Policy: Define terms for project termination, including compensation for work completed up to the date of cancellation.
Liability Limitation: Limit the artist's liability for damages to the amount paid for the service.
Use of Artwork: State whether the artist retains the right to use the artwork for promotional purposes (portfolio, social media).
