Céline Caron

Céline Caron credits her parents with sparking her early fascination with design and objects. Immersed in the world of art from a young age and encouraged to explore creativity through visual expression, she developed an intuitive sensitivity to form, material, and detail.

Trained in interior and industrial design in Brussels and Brisbane, Caron brings over thirteen years of professional experience to her practice. Her career has evolved from Interior Design into design leadership within an international hotel group, where she now oversees projects across Australia, New Zealand, and the Pacific Islands.

Drawn to the quiet alchemy of glazes and the slow transformations of the medium, she began working with clay several years ago. Her approach is deliberately unconventional. She combines clay bodies with raw materials and pigments, moving away from traditional ceramic methods in favour of process-led exploration. Through this, her work has developed a language that is distinctly her own, shaped by surface, texture, and form.

In this exhibition, she unveils a dreamlike universe. Soft, organic forms inspired by the human body are set against rough, raw, and at times synthetic-appearing textures. While each material choice is carefully considered, the kiln remains central. Fire becomes a collaborator, ensuring that no two pieces are ever alike. Her works invite the viewer into a whimsical, contemplative journey, suspended somewhere between the earthbound and the imagination.
